The group honored as the Advance Professionals wrote the book on live event promotion and management. Since the early days of P.T. Barnum it has been the work of those who executed the tour planning, marketing, advertising , sponsorship and public relations that made the circus a financial success. The circus is equal parts art and commerce. Nothing happens unless a ticket is sold. In the world of show business, without business there is no show.

Many alumni of this group have gone on to become successful entrepreneurs, agents, show producers, marketing and pr agency owners, sports and entertainment executives and venue managers. You will find them in leadership roles of media companies, major league sports (NHL, NBA, MLB, MLS), ticketing companies, concert and talent management, theme parks, fairs and expositions, cultural arts and non profit philanthropic organizations. The universal ties that bind the group  is the collective shared learning experiences gained while working for the circus.

This is the biography of Joseph Zvi Gold, a member of the Advance Professionals.

Joseph Zvi Gold: Maestro of Entertainment and Marketing Brilliance

In the tapestry of entertainment and marketing, Joe Gold emerges as a luminary whose journey intertwines the realms of music, media, and brand elevation. His career dawned as an Advance Professional at Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, within the corridors of Feld Entertainment’s esteemed marketing department. One of three sons born into a Washington D.C. family entrenched in the beverage distribution business, Joe diverged from the family legacy to pursue his passion for live entertainment, forging his path with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

From this auspicious beginning, Joe Gold’s trajectory has been marked by an unwavering commitment to the industry. As the Founder and Principal of The Gold Group, he has become synonymous with orchestrating ticket sales that have eclipsed the hundred-million mark. His repertoire encompasses the curation of distinguished events such as the Boston Symphony Orchestra, Art Emerson, Harvard Athletics, and University of Massachusetts Athletics, among an illustrious array of others.

His tenure as Executive Vice President at Woolf Associates saw the genesis of the entertainment division and the production of the celebrated spectacle, “The Gala, a Tribute to Arnold Palmer,” a testament to Gold’s visionary leadership during the Ryder Cup.

Gold’s journey into the echelons of event management originated from his role as a marketing director, championing renowned events like Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus while facilitating Disney on Ice’s expansion into the vibrant Asian touring circuit. Anchored in Boston, The Gold Group stands as a paragon in marketing world-class events, representing the nation’s most prestigious brands and attractions.

The Gold Group’s legacy is characterized by its prowess in elevating brand visibility and driving record attendance for ticketed events. With an approach encompassing comprehensive marketing strategies and targeted grassroots campaigns, The Gold Group navigates the complexities of traveling exhibitions, including King Tut, Body Worlds, and Jurassic Quest, while spearheading specialized marketing initiatives for corporate giants like Toyota, Samsung, and Verizon.

Amidst its triumphs, The Gold Group’s offices now span across Boston, Los Angeles, and Washington DC, emblematic of Gold’s tireless dedication and his ongoing quest to redefine the parameters of event representation and marketing excellence.
