During the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s this English family’s highly charged dog act became one of the most popular attractions ever to command center ring on Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey. In addition to Lucy, the family’s matriarch, the act included daughters Florence and Diana, sons Patrick, Frank, and William. Lucy’s brother-in-law. Harry, and as many as 22 talented canines. A versatile, talented family, the Stephensons also doubled up, appearing as “The Riding Saxons” on the same bills as the dog act in an outstanding display of horsemanship.
