Of the few women to perform on the bounding rope only Tosca Canestrell ever executed the backward double somersault. Born to a famed circus family, she debuted at nine on Ringling Bros. At 16, she was crowned “Queen Of The Circus” by Frank Buck and began seven years of featured appearances on the Greater Olympic Circus at the Chicago Stadium. In her 25 year career she starred on such circuses as Hamid-Morton, Tom Packs, Barnes-Carruthers and many shrine shows.
