Known as “The High Priestess Of Rhythm Aloft,” it was with the physically demanding one-arm swing that she gained her fame. An established star in Europe, she came to the attention of U.S. audiences at San Francisco’s 1939 World’s Fair and made enough of a hit to be signed for a four-year stint in Ringling’s center ring. Her ongoing career included tours with most major shows here and abroad.
