Elvin Bale, the fourth-generation phenomenon hailed by Ringling Bros., earned legend status with his never-duplicated no-net heel-catch trapeze. Evel Knievel famously said Bale was “crazy.” Born into a 300-year circus lineage, Bale carried the family legacy to new heights. A world-renowned performer, Bale ruled the Wheel of Death, the high-wire motorcycle, the Mechanical Monster, and soared as the Human Space Shuttle. Winner of Monte-Carlo’s Gold & Silver Clowns and Spain’s Circus Oscar he achieved global superstar recognition. After a career ending cannon accident, he later became a distinguished industry executive.
